What Happened?

On December 27, 2025, Mullinax Ford of Central Florida became aware of suspicious activity in its computer environment and launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party forensic specialists to determine the nature and scope of the event. The investigation determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to certain Mullinax Ford systems between December 4, 2025, and December 25, 2025, and that information stored on those systems was accessed and copied during that period. After the incident, Mullinax Ford reviewed the affected documents to identify the individuals whose information was contained in the impacted files, a process that took nearly three months. Mullinax Ford discovered the breach on March 18, 2026. The incident was reported to state regulators, including filings with the Indiana Attorney General, Maine Attorney General, and Massachusetts Attorney General on April 15, 2026, and Mullinax Ford began notifying affected individuals in writing on April 15, 2026. A ransomware group known as DragonForce later claimed responsibility in a February 1, 2026 dark web posting and claimed to have obtained approximately 294.65 GB of data. In total, 4,088 individuals were impacted.

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal information may have been compromised:

• "Driver’s license number" .
